Sphinx Laboratories is a unit of Lilly Research Laboratories (Eli Lilly and Company) located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and is dedicated to the discovery of new drugs through creative applications of molecular diversity, quantitative biology, information technology, and engineering.

Their goal was to have Windows-based software components that would encapsulate the functionality of various lab hardware used in an automated screening system.

They also needed an application to control automation of a chemistry application on a robotic sample processing system.

Outcome
