Code Refinery joins others in support of the 19th Annual Harry Montgomery Auction and Golf Tournament to benefit Life Experiences (www.lifeexperiences.org) which raised approximately $61,000.00 to help in their mission.

Life Experiences is a nonprofit organization that blends education, training, and the free enterprise system to create and operate businesses which provide fulfilling employment for adults with developmental disabilities, allowing them to function as independent, productive citizens of the Triangle.

September 18th and 19th, 2006

Code Refinery participates in the BioFusion 2006 conference by presenting their IT and compliance solutions for Life Science and Medical Devices.

Code Refinery was one of seven companies selected to be part of the Technology Showcase presentation.

Samir Dandekar, co-founder and Director of Business Development, commented on the success of the conference, "The conference was a very positive and valuable experience and enabled us to meet established companies in pharmaceutical and biotech industries. We were able to reach key people in these organizations and lay the ground work for developing further relationships with these companies."

BioPort Corporation, a subsidiary of Emergent BioSolutions (www.emergentbiosolutions.com), selects Code Refinery to provide design and verification services for automation of assays used in research and development.

BioPort Corporation is the only licensed supplier of the anthrax vaccine BioThrax® in the United States. Bioport acquired the assets of the Michigan Biologic Products Institute, which historically produced the vaccine, from the State of Michigan in 1998. Bioport was founded with this acquisition as its sole purpose. Along with the anthrax vaccine, BioPort acquired the sole and exclusive customer for the vaccine, the U.S. Department of Defense. Since this time, the United States Department of Health and Human Services has purchased doses of the vaccine for the Strategic National Stockpile

Code Refinery hosts Informatics and Advanced Healthcare cluster meeting on behalf of RTI International (www.rti.org) and Research Triangle Regional Partnership (www.rtrp.org).

A presentation and demonstration of a blood testing robotic system developed for use in detecting West Nile and HIV in blood banks was given. In addition issues related to documentation and validation for FDA approval of medical devices was also discussed.

Baxter Healthcare/BioLife Plasma Services (www.biolifeplasma.com) selects Code Refinery to perform operating system upgrade and validation for an automate liquid handling system used in plasma screening.
